The Animal Emergency Clinic of the Desert is open nights and weekends for the emergency treatment of small animals, mainly dogs and cats. Birds and exotics will also be seen as necessary for stabilizing until your regular veterinarian is open and available for consultation.

POLICIES

The Animal Emergency Clinic of the Desert is open for medical emergencies. For routine non-emergency care, vaccinations and elective surgeries (spay, neuter or cosmetic), please contact your regular veterinarian. If you are not yet established with a regular daytime veterinarian, please see our list of member clinics for a clinic in your area.

For your animal's safety, all cats should be transported in a carrier or box. Dogs should be on a leash when entering or leaving the clinic. If you have forgotten your leash, we will gladly lend you one.

All hospitalized animals must be discharged before 8:00 A.M. the following morning unless hospitalized over the weekend when check-out time will be prior to 8:00 A.M. Monday. You will be responsible for making sure your animal is picked up prior to closing and transported to your regular daytime veterinarian's clinic or to your home. We will send with you any information about follow-up care or continuing hospitalization.

FEES AND PAYMENT

Upon presentation, an initial examination fee for consultation with the veterinarian on duty will be assessed. The veterinarian will discuss diagnostic and treatment options.

Our veterinarian will provide a written itemized estimate of charges for all procedures and medications he or she recommends prior to treatment of your pet.

Pre-payment of all estimated fees is required, and all fees must be paid in full prior to your pet's release. The clinic will accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash and personal checks, with valid identification, if check has your current address and telephone number printed on the check and can be authorized through our check verification vendor. Check or credit card writer must be present.

The Animal Emergency Clinic of the Desert is a separate facility from your regular veterinarian's office, therefore our payment policies may differ from theirs. It is not possible for your regular veterinary office to bill you for services rendered at The Animal Emergency Clinic of the Desert
